One of England's Largest Grammar Systems
Lincolnshire retains one of the biggest selective school systems in England with 16 grammar schools across the county. The Lincolnshire Consortium of Grammar Schools (LCGS) administers a single 11 Plus test for 15 member schools, while Caistor Grammar runs its own entrance exam.
The Lincolnshire 11+ uses GL Assessment and tests Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal/Spatial Reasoning only — no maths or English. Children need a standardised score of 220+ across both papers to qualify. Tests are sat on two Saturdays in mid-September of Year 6.
