Seven Schools, One Test
Gloucestershire has 7 grammar schools forming the Gloucestershire Grammar Schools Consortium. Children sit a single common entrance test and can apply to multiple schools with one registration. Each school is its own admissions authority and sets its own oversubscription criteria.
The 11+ uses GL Assessment with two papers covering English, Verbal Reasoning, Maths, and Non-Verbal/Spatial Reasoning. There is no fixed pass mark — the qualifying standard is set after results and is based on approximately the top 25% of the cohort, typically around a standardised score of 210–220.
