Two Test Providers Across Yorkshire
Yorkshire has 6 grammar schools spread across North Yorkshire, Calderdale, and Kirklees. Unlike many regions, Yorkshire schools use two different test providers: GL Assessment (Ermysted's and Ripon Grammar) and FSCE (Crossley Heath, North Halifax Grammar, Heckmondwike Grammar, and Skipton Girls' High).
GL Assessment schools test Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, while FSCE schools test English, Maths, and Creativity across three papers. There is no fixed pass mark at any school — places are allocated by rank order of test scores. Tests are sat in September of Year 6.
