Enfield has just one selective grammar school — The Latymer School in Edmonton. Despite its name, "Enfield Grammar School" is a non-selective comprehensive that dropped selection in 1967. The Latymer School is co-educational, admitting both boys and girls, and offers 192 Year 7 places each year.
The 11+ uses a combination of GL Assessment (Maths and Verbal Reasoning, multiple-choice) and a school-set English paper (comprehension and creative writing, written). The school operates an Inner Area postcode requirement — only children living within specific N, E, and EN postcodes are eligible to apply. Up to 20 places are reserved for children with exceptional musical talent, and a further 20 places for children eligible for Free School Meals.

A co-educational state grammar school offering 192 Year 7 places. The admissions test combines GL Assessment multiple-choice papers in Maths and Verbal Reasoning (30 minutes each) with a school-set English paper covering comprehension and creative writing (60 minutes). Candidates must live within the Inner Area — specific N, E, and EN postcodes — to be eligible. The top 700 candidates on Maths and VR proceed to English marking. Up to 20 places are reserved for children with exceptional musical talent (who must also score in the top 700), and up to 20 places for Free School Meals/Universal Credit eligible children (who must score in the top 900). Over 3,000 children apply each year.
