About the Redbridge 11+
One Test, Strict Catchment
Redbridge has 2 grammar schools — 1 boys' and 1 girls' — both using the shared Redbridge 11 Plus test administered by the London Borough of Redbridge. One registration and one test covers both schools. The test is provided by GL Assessment with two multiple-choice papers.
Paper 1 covers English and Verbal Reasoning and Paper 2 covers Mathematics and Non-Verbal Reasoning, each lasting approximately 50–60 minutes. The pass mark is an age-standardised score of 104. However, achieving 104 does not guarantee a place — over 2,500 children sit the test for just 360 places, giving roughly a 14% acceptance rate. A competitive score is 130+.
Critical: Redbridge enforces a strict Common Catchment Area covering parts of the borough. No child living outside this area has ever been offered a place. If you do not live in the catchment, the council advises you should not register.
